Last weekend was Kat and I’s trip down south to Phoenix. Let me just say, the city smells like sewer. Everywhere. But then again, we stayed downtown and I had never before stayed legitimately in a city’s downtown before. Maybe they all smell.
Anyways! We saw Charlie and Lizz which was so awesome! The ASU dorms are super securitied out and everyone has to be checked in and out every entrance and exit from the building. The football game was insanity. So many ASU kids, but also a lot of NAU kids who made the trip. We were outnumbered, of course, but we enjoyed ourselves. The ASU stadium workers gave us student section wrist bands. For the record, I was wearing blue. HUGE tip off that I WASN’T a Sundevil. Just saying. Those tickets were $60 to sit down there too. Kat and I would have been murdered, however, so we sat where we were supposed to.
Kat and I slept on the dorm room floor (nothing out of the ordinary, ha) that night after the football game. We woke up, went out to Starbucks, and hit up American Apparel and Urban Outfitters! I’m head over heals for both. Gahh. Too bad I can’t just drop $100 at both stores..daily. Haha. Then we saw Zach! Always a joy to see him, everytime.
Now that I’m done rambling about useless events, I prolly should get to the point I want to make. I just want to throw out the idea of how I would take being a Lumberjack over a Sundevil any day. There are 80,000 kids that go to ASU (or so I heard). 80,000. I couldn’t imagine sharing a school with that many people. Transportation would be packed, so would classes. Yeah, it’s cool they have a good football team in the PAC 10 with fireworks every four seconds. But do things like that make up for the fact that you’re simply one of 80,000? They wouldn’t miss you if you left. At NAU, I feel like a student, that I have an impact. Our school is big enough to have decent athletics and stand-out programs, yet personalized enough to get the best education out there. Who doesn’t like being the underdog anyway? ;)
